Fine houses, fine cars, fine food – a weekend of Yorkshire tradition!

Thank goodness – the weather was good for the Bank Holiday weekend!

Arriving bright and early at Constable Burton in Wensleydale http://www.constableburton.com/?we receive a warm welcome from the Wyville’s and are met by a blanket of daffodils that you cannot resist taking a stroll through.

Taking prime position the cars looked amazing in such a magnificent setting! I cannot believe I haven’t spent time here before, the kids have no restrictions, its perfect for a picnic and everyone takes the time to make you feel welcome.

After sampling the delicious homemade cakes and tea served by lovely Yorkshire ladies we decided to explore the grounds and found them full of natural beauty, daffodils and tulips that would appeal to any imagination……….ConsBurton?Const Burt2

I am already thinking about the adventures my grandchildren would have here.

Later that afternoon, Ryder (grandchild number 4, 22 months) is peckish and blows the horn on the E-Type to grab my attention –image[18]┬áso its time to sample the Dales Food & Drink Festival at Leyburn. After attempting to browse sensibly we descend on the free samples with enthusiasm and walk away with a range of goodies for tea. Particular favourites from fabulous Yorkshire providers include Ampleforth Beer, Yorkshire Ales, The Wensleydale Creamery and the Little Chocolate Shop :o)

With all of this on your doorstep we really are in God’s own country – bliss!
